       Lanzhou University (LZU) is one of the key and comprehensive universities administrated directly by China’s Ministry of Education, and ranks among 42 Double First-class universities in China. With approximately 20,000 undergraduates and over 13,000 graduate students, LZU has always attached great importance to foreign language education, and thus welcomes professionals of all countries and regions around the world to teach, research and communicate on its campus.

       School of Foreign Languages and Literatures (SFLL) of LZU was founded in 1947. Boasting over 160 staff members including around 20 international teachers, SFLL enrolls undergraduates in English, French, Japanese, German and Russian, and has qualifications in awarding master degrees in English Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, and Translation Studies.

       The city of Lanzhou, where LZU is located, stands at the very heart of China as the pivotal point on the ancient Silk Road, with the fertile valley of Yellow River where Chinese civilization was nurtured.

        Due to its geographical positions, Lanzhou boasts a fabulous riverside sightseeing and a mixed style of dishes, especially its Beef Noodles enjoying a worldwide fame.

       Fascinating tourist spots in other cities of Gansu can easily be explored by day trips from Lanzhou. Thanks to its diverse climates and landscapes, natural sceneries can be found in Gansu including grassland, gobi desert, glaciers, snow mountains, Danxia landform, canyons and Karst caves.

       It also enjoys rich culture heritage, covering Silk Road Culture, Yellow River Culture, the Great Wall Culture, and Ancestral Culture. In 2018 Gansu Province was listed by Lonely Planet as the first of “top 10 best places to visit in Asia”.

 

Vacancies we can offer?

       Positions: English, Japanese, German, Russian and French teaching

       Description:

    n one semester or one academic year

    n 16 teaching hours (including office hours) per week

    n Curriculum: Language-related courses such as speaking, writing, reading, translation,         philosophy, linguistics, literature, critical thinking and culture

 

Requirements to be met

    n Be native speakers  (For English teaching, TESOL /TEFL required for un-native speakers or bachelors/masters without teaching experience)

    n Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (with Chinese authentication); degrees in linguistics, literature and education preferred

    n Have proof of no criminal background check (with Chinese authentication)

    n Teaching experience in China with reference preferred

    n Competitive Salary based on previous experience, education, and credentials. 

    n Insurance: Domestic Medical Insurance provided

    n (One-year) contract completion bonus: round tickets to the home country

    n Work permit: facilitating the work permit application
