Mr. Jun Jaewon, Consul General of South Korean Consulate General in Xi'an visited Lanzhou University

April 18, Mr. Jun Jaewon, Consul General of the Consulate General of South Korean-Xi'an visited LZU. Pan Baotian, Vice-president of LZU met them. Person in charge of International Office also attended the meeting
 
During the meeting, Pan Baotian first expressed concerns about the SEWOLliner shipwreck in South Korea and then introduced the overview of cooperation between Korean universities and LZU, saying South Korea's culture and education have a strong attraction to Chinese students, and a growing number of students from Lanzhou University went to South Korea for further education and exchanges, which is helpful for deepening mutual understanding .
 
Consul General Mr. Jun Jaewon affirmed the achievements that LZU have gained with universities and research institutions in Korea. He pointed out that Lanzhou, as a very important geographical location, has a long history . With the proposal the economy belt on Silk Road, and in particular, Lanzhou New District having become the fifth state-level New Area, a growing number of Korean companies will invest in Lanzhou, which provides a good opportunity in educational and cultural cooperation, and he hopes university exchange between Lanzhou University and Korea would make more substantial progress.
