China Daily and Bank of China, in collaboration with China Services Information Platform (chinaservicesinfo.com), are holding a storytelling contest. Foreigners who have lived in the county or have had any other dealings with the country any time from 2012 to 2022 are welcome to share their amazing stories.

AWESOME PRIZES

In the story-writing and video sections of the contest there are five first prizes, 10 second prizes and 15 third prizes. The first-prize winners will receive US $1,000 each, the second-prize winners $800 each and the third-prize winners $500 each.

Winners in the photography section will receive 200 yuan for each winning image.

China Daily will assemble the photos judged to be the 100 best into a collection, and some of these may be displayed at chinaservicesinfo.com and on its social media accounts.

The works submitted should be those of the person submitting them, reflecting real-life events that that person experienced as a witness or participant.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Articles, which may include photographs

l Length: Each story should be 500 to 1,000 words long and should include a short title.

l Type and layout: Text should be in Times New Roman, the title being 16 point and the rest of the text 14 point. The text must be double-spaced and justified.

l Format and presentation of any photos included: Either JPG or PNG, 1200 x 630 pixels. Each photo must be properly attributed with the photographer’s name and must have a caption of no more than 200 words. Note: Photos must be attached in a separate archive.

Photographs

l Time: From 2012 to 2022

l Content: Images that portray China's people, its beauty such as scenery (rural or urban) customs and cultural heritage.

l Format: One digital photo in color. Post-processing composite images in Photoshop are not accepted. Photo in JPG format, the long side is greater than 5,000 pixels, and the resolution ratio is 300.

l Each photo must be properly attributed with the photographer's name and must have a caption of no more than 200 words.

Videos

l Format: MP4 or MOV

l Dimensions: 1280 x 720 pixels

l Size: 1GB maximum, up to 4 minutes.

l Caption: a brief introduction in 200 to 500 words.

l There should be no background music. English subtitles, if necessary, must be properly time-aligned in a separate Word file.

l A video cover should be added to the beginning of the video. A separate 16:9 ratio image for the video cover is also acceptable.

The entries should not involve any pornography, violence, reactionary elements or commercial advertisements.

 

 

The author owns the copyright and has the right of authorship of the entries. Once the entries are published on the contest website, it means the author has agreed that China Daily has the right to edit their works before publishing them online. Also, China Daily has the right to use their works in other capacities for free, such as internet, cable TV, and mobile terminals, also publications, posters and exhibitions.

“我·中国和‘这十年’”征文活动通知

 

2012-2022，“这十年”中国实现了快速发展。为促进新时代中外人文交流，展现新时代中国的辉煌成就与美好前景，中国日报社于2022年8 - 9月期间，主办“我·中国和‘这十年’”主题征集活动，邀请广大外籍人士（国内和海外均可）按要求提交作品，作为见证者分享自己与中国“这十年”的交集与感触，畅谈美好回忆与动人瞬间。

一、举办单位

二、活动详情

1.征集对象：“这十年”期间曾在中国有过生活、留学、就业等经历的外籍人士，在“这十年”与中国有过交集即可。

2.征集时间：2022年8月9日 - 2022年10月15日

3.作品类型：文字类、摄影照片类、视频类

4.语言要求：英文

5.作品要求

（1）文字(可配图)

文章：500-1000字，契合主题，题目自拟。

格式：标题16号字，正文14号，字体均为Times New Roman。1.5倍行距，文字两端对齐。

配图：格式要求JPG/PNG，尺寸1200px * 630px。每张图片配有不超过200字的图片说明，简单描述图片内容，并写清拍摄者姓名。为确保图片清晰度及后期制作，请将图片原图另附压缩包进行提交。

（2）摄影照片

拍摄时间：2012-2022年。

拍摄内容：记录“大美中国”，包括中国的壮丽美景、城市风貌、人文风俗、历史文物及文化遗产等。

文件类型：作品为彩色单幅数码照片，不接受PS后期合成图片，文件为JPG格式，长边大于5000像素，300分辨率。

其他：另附文件写明拍摄者姓名，以及不超过200字的图片说明。

（3）视频

格式：视频要求格式为MP4或MOV，画面尺寸为1280px * 720px。

大小：文件不超过1 GB，视频长度不超过4分钟。

其他：请提交200-500字的文字说明，简要描述视频内容。要求作品内容完整，视频不添加任何的背景音乐以及字幕，英文字幕需另附Word格式文件，标明时间点。视频封面需在视频首帧，或单独提交16:9尺寸的视频封面图。

 

三、奖项设置

评审分初审及复审，根据作品类别，比赛共设置文章、摄影照片、视频三大类。设一、二、三等奖，并设立优秀组织奖。

1.文章、视频类比赛设一等奖5名，赠予1000美元奖励；二等奖10名，赠予800美元奖励；三等奖15名，赠予500美元奖励。本次活动征集的摄影作品计划制作成册，前100张作品将入选，作品所有者获得200元人民币/幅的稿费。

2.优秀作品有机会刊登在中国对外政务信息服务平台。

3.根据参赛单位对赛事组织贡献情况评选若干“优秀组织奖”，由主办方颁发获奖证书。

五、版权及其他相关说明

1.参赛作品不得含色情、暴力、反动成分或以及其他违法违规内容, 不得出现商业广告内容。

2.作品版权归作者所有，作者享有署名权。投稿作品一经在征文网站上发表，即表示作者同意主办方对其作品在网上发表前进行编辑，同意并永久免费授权主办方将其作品用于其他活动或用途，如在网络、有限电视、移动端等播放、出版、海报、展览等。

3.所有参赛者应保证享有参赛作品的版权。因作品版权所产生的法律责任，一律由作者承担，并赔偿由此对主办方造成的一切损失。

4.参赛者一经投稿，即被视为已接受本条款。主办方保留对本次比赛条款的最终解释权。
