GCMS delegation visits Second Hospital of Lanzhou University

Recently, Michael Nerlich, president of the German-Chinese Medical Society (GCMS), and his colleagues visited the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University. Zhou Wence, Pan Yawen, Jiao Zuoyi, respectively president and vice-presidents of the hospital, and other hospital staff held a talk with the German guests.

Zhou welcomed the visit of Nerlich’s delegation. While making an introduction to the Second Hospital in terms of the status quo, discipline construction and talent cultivation, he noted that the latter two areas of work are fundamental to the hospital’s development. As Nerlich’s team is from advanced German medical institutions, the two sides can hopefully cooperate in discipline construction, hospital management, teaching and scientific research, Zhou said.

Nerlich briefed on the history and talent cultivation of the GCMS. He hoped to strengthen collaboration and exchanges with the Chinese partner to promote mutual development in future.

During the meeting, heads of the neurosurgery department and the urology department of the Second Hospital made detailed introductions to their work, and engaged in discussions with Nerlich about talent cultivation and other issues.

After the meeting, Nerlich and his colleagues visited the hospital’s neurosurgery department, urology department, ICU of the neurosurgery department, as well as the Imperia Examination Museum of Gansu, which is located in the hospital.

This event has strengthened the friendship between the hospital and the GCMS, and laid a foundation for in-depth academic exchanges and talent cultivation cooperation in future.
