ABOUT US

Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE) is the official administrative department of Lanzhou University (LZU) on implementing  international policies of LZU and on coordinating its international exchanges and cooperation.

OICE provides consultation to LZU leadership; plans receptions of important guests from abroad and from Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Regions; manages institutional exchanges of LZU; project partnerships  with universities and institutions outside the mainland of China; employs and serves foreign experts, visiting professors and honorary professors; schemes students exchange programs; develops and supervises Confucius Institutes & Classrooms of LZU.

OICE has the following divisions: Division for General Affairs, Division for Global Relations, Division for Students International Exchange, Division for Transnational Education & Foreign Experts Affairs, and Division for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.

Lanzhou University has established exchange and communication relations with more than 200 foreign universities and universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, including University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, University of Ottawa, the University of Leeds, Université de Paris VII of France, University of Cologne, Uppsala University of Sweden, University of Torino, Tohoku University of Japan, Sungkyunkwan University of South Korea, City University of Hong Kong, and Taiwan University. By far, LZU has jointly established two Confucius Institutes and one Confucius Class Room respectively with Tashkent State Institute for Oriental Studies in Uzbekistan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Kazakhstan and Tbilisi Open University in Georgia.

Between 2014 and 2018, more than 3,800 LZU students were sent to study abroad. In 2018, as the first transnational education program at LZU, the Bachelor Program on Data Science jointly established between LZU and Drexel University recruited 116 freshmen students.
